This Privacy Policy explains how Paafekt collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Service, including our iOS and Android apps and this website.
"Paafekt" refers collectively to Paafekt Innovations Private Limited (India) and Paafekt Inc. (United States). Where a specific entity is the data controller or contracting party, it is named in the relevant section.
1. What we collect
Phone number (required)
Used for one-time password (OTP) sign-in through Firebase Authentication. We do not require email for basic app use.
Account display name
If you set a name in the app, it is stored locally on your device for your account profile.
User ID
A Firebase Authentication user identifier used to keep your signed-in session working.
Device installation identifier
Processed by Firebase Authentication for verification and abuse prevention. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Room photos and saved rooms
Room photos and generated room models are processed and stored on your device. They are not uploaded to Paafekt servers for room generation. Content leaves your device only when you explicitly save or share it (for example, saving a screenshot to Photos).
What we do not collect for ads
The current mobile apps do not use third-party advertising analytics, and they do not request App Tracking Transparency permission.
2. How we use data
- Authenticate users and prevent abuse
- Provide app functionality such as rooms, furniture fit, and AR visualization
- Run on-device processing for room reconstruction and furniture detection
We do not sell your personal data.
4. On-device processing & permissions
In the mobile apps, room reconstruction and furniture features run on your device. Depending on the feature, this may use on-device models for depth estimation, camera calibration, and furniture detection. Network access is used for account authentication and, when needed, downloading detection models to the device.
- Camera: capture room photos and use AR furniture visualization
- Photos: choose room photos and save screenshots of your 3D rooms
- Motion: stabilize AR viewing and measurement while you move the device
You can revoke these permissions anytime in your device settings.
5. Your choices & account deletion
- Revoke camera, photos, or motion access in your device settings
- Delete your account in the app under Settings → Account. This removes your Firebase authentication account and signs you out
- Delete rooms saved on this device in the app, or uninstall the app to remove local room data. Deleting your account does not automatically erase rooms already stored on the device

6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we design Paafekt to minimize risk and exposure, including keeping room generation on device by default.
7. Retention
We keep authentication-related data only as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal requirements, and protect against fraud or abuse. Room photos and saved rooms remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
